"Reiki Systems of the World. One Heart, Many Beats", Oliver Klatt, Lotus Press, Twin Lakes (WI), USA

In cooperation with the leading Reiki Masters of the world, Oliver Klatt has written a book that will be enthusiastically received. For the first time, the reader can obtain fundamental information about internationally known and recognized Reiki systems and understand what they have in common and especially what differentiates them on the basis of practical examples and exercises. The result is an overview of the development of this system of healing and the path that Reiki has taken in the course of its dissemination and continued development throughout the world. It is quite obvious that all of the contributions have been created in close cooperation and coordination with Reiki masters. This has produced an authentic work whose sections have been woven together by Oliver Klatt through personal encounters and mutual experiences. Oliver Klatt's warmhearted and sincere style is supported by his respect for and great knowledge of Reiki.

Oliver Klatt, born in 1967, studied journalism and communications and has a Master of Arts. He is the editor-in-chief of the German-language Reiki Magazin, as well as a Reiki master and organizer of seminars and other activities related to Reiki. He has published many articles on the subject.

Excerpt from a Review by Philippa Burden:

„In his book ‚Reiki Systems of the World – One Heart, Many Beats‘, Oliver Klatt has carried out very thorough research into the history of Reiki, its origins and the wide variety with which it is expressed today. I feel that Oliver‘s book could easily have a sub-title of „Everything you always wanted to know about Reiki but were afraid to ask“. He tells of how he questioned the story of Reiki as we tell it in our classes, concerned with the dilemma of telling a story when there are facts which don‘t support what we say. He is delightfully honest when he says that after making some changes, they didn‘t appear to be right–he even found that some of his changes were incorrect themselves. So he reverted to the original story and then he says, „For the first time, I found my way to its inner essence.“ Oliver has not only done his research in depth, he has also personally experienced and spent time with several of the key figures who have taken a different path from Usui Shiki Ryoho, such as Don Alexander, Walter Lübeck and Frank Arjava Petter. Oliver, himself a Reiki Master initiated by Paul Mitchell, makes very clear his own place of honour and respect for the Usui System. This place seems to allow him to explore thoroughly and without bias. ‚Reiki Systems of the World‘ is a very useful handbook for the Reiki master who wants answers to often perplexing questions and who is seeking reliable and sound information.“
